Enescu String Octet in C, Op.7
Mendelssohn Octet in E flat, Op.20
Top string players from the RSAMD are led by world renowned soloist, and RSAMD International Fellow, Ilya Gringolts in a programme of contrasting octets. Firstly, an early work by the twentieth century Franco-Romanian composer Georges Enescu, followed by possibly the finest example of the string octet genre by Felix Mendelssohn. The RSAMD is Scotland's national conservatoire and stages over 300 performances every year involving students, staff and visiting artists making the Academy one of the busiest arts venues in the United Kingdom.
Coffee will be served from 10.30am and is included in the price of the ticket
