Mendelssohn arranged Graham Sheen, Konzertstück No.2 in d minor, Op.114, Françaix Le Gay Paris, Edward Mcguire Wind Octet, Mozart Serenade No.12 in c minor.
The wonderful Royal Scottish Academy Stevenson Winds, led by the effervescent star of the clarinet Maximiliano Martín, offer a diverse programme balancing Françaix’s lighthearted ‘Le gay Paris’ against the darkly passionate utterances of Mozart’s undoubted masterpiece, the C minor wind Serenade. Mendelssohn’s wonderful Konzertstück and Eddie McGuire’s Wind Octet complement the line-up perfectly, with Eddie’s love of Mozart wind serenades strongly influencing his work. Martín is a member of the Academy’s illustrious woodwind staff, and the Stevenson Winds features a selected pool of advanced wind students.
