Liz is a formidable watercolour painter;
having won the
Watercolour Challenge
television programme in 2001, she has
gone on to forge a successful career as a
teacher and full-time artist.
She exhibits regularly at the Pitenweem
Arts Festival and in galleries throughout
Scotland.
Liz is mainly inspired by Scottish
landscapes, seascapes, harbour and street
scenes. She tries to capture the feeling of light in her paintings using an
impressionistic style, and a bold use of colour and tone. She has always loved the
freshness and transparency of watercolours, but now often paints in acrylics.
